We Owe It to Portia and to You

August 14, 2010--We are pleased to announce the formation of the News Lampoon Portia de Rossi Fan Club.  We have noticed an inordinate amount of incoming traffic from the keywords “Portia de Rossi” and that Lex Goldman’s piece about the former Arrested Development star and wife of Ellen Degeneres was one of the most popular on the site.  We don’t know what exactly to attribute this to—her beauty, her gayness, her talent?  All of the above?—but we’re going with it!

We’re also thrilled about the rumors that Portia might be Steve Carell’s replacement on The Office.  We think Portia would be a perfect fit . . . you know, keep that gay thing going . . . though we wonder if this is what they mean by “jumping the shark.”  (If anyone actually knows, please tell us.)

Membership to the club is exclusive, limited only to News Lampoon employees.  (Sorry.)  But Portia fans can participate by continuing to check out the site and note that we are going to try to fit Portia into as many stories as possible, as she’s been a huge draw.  We feel we owe this to Portia de Rossi but especially to you, Loyal Reader.
