Belichick Says
Giants Cheated
By Mickey Sartre, NewsLampoon cub reporter
February 4, 2008, Phoenix—Rather than take the loss honorably
and go home, immediately after suffering a bitter defeat to the New York
Giants in last night’s Super Bowl, a surly New England Patriots Head Coach
Bill Belichick charged New York with cheating.

“But I’m not just talking about the Giants football team,” a
profusely-sweating Belichick said. “I’m also talking about the New York
Jets, the New York Times, the entire city of New York. It's no secret
everyone there hates me, and do you honestly believe they could have
beaten us without cheating? Come on.”
Last September, Belichick was charged with cheating by the New
York Jets when Patriots assistant Matt Estrella was caught taping the Jets’
coaches sending in defensive plays. Just last week the Patriots were
again charged with cheating by using similar methods to win the 2002 Super
Bowl. NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell fined Belichick $500,000 and the
Patriots organization $250,000 for the September incident. Senator Arlen
Specter (R-Pennsylvania) says he is “very concerned” and wants to talk with Goodell
about the 2002 incident, first
reported by the New York Times.
“Did you see all the cameras here [last night]?” said Belichick.
“They sure as hell weren’t ours. And there’s no way they’re all the
Giants’ either. Where do you think they all came from?”
Reminded that the game was televised by FOX, Belichick
shot back: "And where are they headquartered? I certainly didn't ask
them to come. Look at all the cameras in this room. Where are
all you guys from? Don't tell me. New York?"
